Lady Gators Soccer Defeats Patterson Mill

From Coach Testerman:

The Perry Hall Lady Gators avenged last season’s OT loss to Patterson Mill HS with a 1-0 win in regulation time this season.

The winning goal was scored by Elizabeth Fitch about midway through the 2nd half of play.

Aniya Flanagan earned her 2nd assist of the season on a great cross from the right flank to the far post and Elizabeth headed it past a Patterson Mill defender for the 1-0 lead and eventual game winner.

Emily Shandruk had 6 saves.  Our Lady Gators improve their record  to 5-2-2 on the season.

Next up is Towson HS on Monday the 1st of October; this is also our last home match and Senior Night.

Girls’ Varsity Soccer Defeats Franklin

Perry Hall defeated Franklin HS by a score of 6-0.

Goals scored by Mel Garrison, Melissa Placek, Erin Moran, Sophia Perzan and 2 by Sabrina Testerman.

Assists: Mel Garrison, Melissa Placek & Aniya Flanagan

Emily Shandruk had 3 saves.    The Lady Gators run their record  to 4-2-2.

Boys’ Varsity Soccer Defeats Franklin

Half:  PH 1-0

Summary;  Perry Hall defeated Franklin 4-1 on Thursday night.  Perry Hall opened the scoring in the 26th minute with a flurry of combination passes that concluded with Justin Spencer finishing off a through ball from Matt Holtschneider.  The score was 1-0 at the half, but Perry Hall scored very quickly into the second half.  In the 44th minute, striker James Canoles dribbled 25 yards through a crowd of Franklin defenders and finished the ball neatly into the corner.  In the 49th minute, senior Nate Liberto bent a free kick around the wall to beat Franklin goalkeeper Jarvis Hardy.  In the 52nd minute Liberto set up freshman Connor Gwin who hit a scorching shot from 25 yards out into the far corner of the net. Franklin got on the board in the 74th minute when JJ Skaro converted a penalty kick.

Girls’ Soccer Drops Game to Catonsville

Perry Hall Lost to Catonsville HS by a score of 2-0.

Emily Shandruk had 10 saves, one of them on a PK.  In the losing effort…  The Lady Gators fell to a record of 3-2-2.

Girls’ Varsity Soccer Defeats Lansdowne

Perry Hall Girls Varsity Soccer (3-1-2)

The Gators defeated Landsdowne H.S. by a score of 11-0.     Goals were scored by Mel Garrison, Sabrina Testerman, Erin Moran, Sophia Perzan, Kara Taylor, Tina Bishop, Emily Dissen, Maria Ambridge (2) and Emily Shandruk (2).

Assists by Sophia Perzan, Sabrina Testerman, Mel Garrison, and Megan Erpenstein.

Boys’ Varsity Soccer Shuts Out Lansdowne

Assists:  PH:  Allman, A. Holtschneider, Jones, Gwin (2)

Saves :  PH Kroll 1, Dunkerton 1, Phillips 1
Lansdowne:  Coulton 8

Summary:

Perry Hall had goals from six different players to beat Lansdowne 6-0.  Nicky Jones opened the scoring in the 7th minute of a pass from Rob Allman.  Perry Hall was unable to break through the Lansdowne defense again until the 46th minute when Justin Spencer finished a cross from Alex Holtschneider.  Holtschneider scored his own goal a minute later to give the Gators a 3-0 lead.  In the 62 minute, Connor Gwin set up Tyler Link who finished a hard, low shot.  Gwin assisted James Canoles in the 72 minute to bring the score to 5-0.  Kyle Smith scored a long range shot to complete the scoring.

It was the 4th straight shutout for the Gators.

Varsity Boys’ Soccer Defeats Kenwood

Ken:  Thomas 6

Summary:  After a scoreless first half, James Canoles converted a pass from Nicky Jones in the 54th minute to give the Gators a 1-0 lead.  Kenwood had a chance to equalize when Troy Hagy’s long range shot was saved by goalkeeper Austin Kroll.  In the 69th minute, Nicky Jones received a cross from Rob Allman in stride and placed the ball inside the near post giving a 2-0 lead to the Gators.

Justin Ornelas, Todd Brendel and Nate Liberto stood out defensively as the Gators (3-1-1) were able to get their third straight shutout.

Girls’ Varsity Soccer Defeats Kenwood

Perry Hall Girls Varsity Soccer (2-1-2)

The Gators defeated Kenwood H.S. by a score of 7-1.    All goals were scored in the second half of the game.  Emily Shandruk made a great save in the first half to keep the clean slate and a total of 4 through the entire match.

Goals were scored by Mel Garrison (2), Elizabeth Fitch, Sabrina Testerman, Erin Moran, Brooke Howard & Abby Dunkerton.

Boys’ Varsity Soccer Defeats Bel Air 3-0

After a scoreless first half, Perry Hall began to finish chances to defeat Bel Air 3-0.  Junior midfielder Nicky Jones hit a left footed strike from 25 yards out in the 53rd minute to break the tie.  At the 60th minute, Perry Hall back Jason Stump crossed the ball to freshman striker Connor Gwin, who chipped the Bel Air keeper from about 18 yards.  Less than a minute later, Perry Hall midfielder Kyle “Froto” Smith split two Bel Air defenders to speedster Justin Spencer who finished his 1 on 1 with the Bel Air goalkeeper.

Girls’ Varsity Soccer at the Bobcat Cup Tournament

Perry Hall Girls Varsity Soccer(1-1-2) lost to Huntingtown H.S. 4-0 and tied Century H.S. 1-1 this past weekend at the BelAir “Bobcat Cup” Tournament.

The team is looking forward to playing Kenwood HS this Wednesday at Kenwood and Lansdowne HS this Friday at home.  Let’s finish the week with two more wins.
