The JV field hockey team shut out the Catonsville Comets 2-0 in their first victory of the season. Goalie Taylor Fitch dominated on defense, stopping every shot that came her way. Key plays by midfielders Sam Morris and Amira Zakaria kept the ball on the offensive side of the field. A beautiful first goal by freshman Makayla Kurcoba put the Gators ahead. Returning sophomore Kari McKenna beautifully set up freshman (brand new to the sport) Tiffany Tan for a second goal in the second half. The Lady Gators played hard until the final buzzer, and earned their first win. Congrats to the girls on their victory!

The Perry Hall varsity girls’ soccer team scored a second half goal and then the game winner in overtime to beat an athletic and aggressive Sparrows Point squad. Senior Maddy Lebhar scored both Gator goals with a blast from 18 yards and a one touch in front of the keeper to win. Assists were fired in by senior Bridgette Asher and freshman Reese Pinnell. Junior goalkeeper Serenity Jankowiak kept the Point offense scoreless in the 2nd half and overtime behind another stellar backline performance. Perry Hall High School Girls’ JV Soccer ties Hereford JV 1-1 in double overtime.
PHHS Girls’ Varsity soccer overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit to beat Hereford 3-2. Kamryn Williams scored early in the first half off an assist from Madeline Lebhar. After going a goal down to end the first half, the Gators came out strong in the second half. Kamryn Williams found Maya Ajaime-Friedenberg at the back post and Maya hammered the cross home with a well-placed header to tie the game at 2. Center midfielder Maddy Hall once again found Kamryn Williams midway through the second half at the top of the Hereford 18 yard box. Kamryn created space off the dribble and tucked the ball away with a shot over the keeper for the go-ahead goal.
The Gators’ back line of Amaris Hapsis, Allie Cordell, Xondie Neal, and Emily Rennie, along with goalkeeper Serenity Jankowiak, held the Bulls scoreless in the second half and secured the win. The Gator midfield was controlled by seniors Maddy Hall and Madeline Lebhar.
